The AGW's most recent publication is now available! The Logic of Nature, the Romance of Space: Elements of Canadian Modernist Painting explores aspects of modernism in Canada's visual arts in the first half of the 20th century. Five essays discuss the epochal shift which questioned not only the forms of artistic representation, but the uses of art to explore personal belief and wider streams of thought. This 178-page bilingual catalogue is illustrated with over 100 colour images of the art of Kathleen Munn, Lowrie Warrener and Bertram Brooker whose work represents some of the earliest abstract art in Canada.
